Your appointment at the CHOC clinics

This short video will describe what you can expect when visiting the at CHOC Primary and Specialty Care Clinics.

After calling your child for their visit, a medical assistant will greet you and take you to an exam room or a preparation room to take your child’s vital signs.

This includes a check of blood pressure, body temperature, height and weight.

Crayons, paper and videos are available to entertain your child until the physician or nurse practitioner joins you.

Once the provider arrives, the exam will begin. Ask any questions you may have.

At the end of the visit, the medical assistant will review your child’s discharge paperwork with you, which may include instructions for prescriptions, laboratory work, or additional care.

As you exit the clinic, you’ll go to a kiosk to schedule any follow-up visits.
