Struggles at school are common for many children and teens. This presentation will review possible reasons that students have a hard time at school, as well evidence-based strategies for parents to support their child’s well-being and help get them back on track. In addition, a brief overview will be given on types of formal accommodations schools may be able to provide.

Presenter Bio
Dr. Kevin Rowen, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist at CHOC Children’s Hospital who specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT. His primary roles are providing services in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for high school students, developing new programming for future CHOC services, and supporting the School-Based Mental Health team in CHOC’s partnerships with local schools.
