Immunization / Vaccine Policy

At CHOC Primary Care, we pride ourselves in maintaining a safe and non-threatening environment where children can receive optimal medical care that follows the standards recommended by the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) and CDC (Centers for Disease Control). We believe that following the AAP / CDC Immunization schedule is in the best interest of every child, parent, family, and employee affiliated with our practice and community.

The vaccines recommended for all children are:

  • MMR (Measles / Mumps / Rubella)
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Hepatitis B
  • DTaP (Diphtheria / Tetanus / Pertussis), Hib (Hemophilus Influenza type b Meningitis),
  • PCV13 (Pneumococcal Meningitis)
  • Rotavirus
  • IPV (Inactivated Poliovirus)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Tdap (Tetanus / diphtheria / pertussis Adolescent version)
  • Meningococcal Meningitis

Although not encouraged, if you are considering a modified vaccine schedule, our providers are available to discuss this option in more detail, provided all patients are kept up-to-date and appropriately protected against vaccine preventable illnesses.
