At CHOC, part of Rady Children’s Health, we know research not only saves lives — it gives future generations the chance to live to their fullest potential. Guided by our commitment to “go beyond”, our team asks the difficult questions, solves complex problems, and forges new approaches to treatment that benefit patients now and in the future. Through our Research Institute in Orange County, we have more than 600 studies in over 30 specialties, giving children access to some of the most advanced treatments available. Our scientists apply the latest advances in molecular profiling, including whole genome sequencing, to deliver care tailored to each child’s needs — from infancy through adolescence.
About the CHOC Research Institute
The CHOC Research Institute was formally established in 2003, after years of active participation in pediatric clinical research. Today, the Research Institute is part of Rady Children’s Health and supports more than 600 active human-subject research studies across nearly all of our pediatric subspecialty areas.
The Institute’s Sponsored Projects and Research Compliance offices administer and oversee federal NIH, California State CIRM, private foundation and donor funding in support of translational and clinical child health research.
The Research Institute also has a formal affiliation with UC Irvine, a collaboration that brings advanced treatment to patients. Through the partnership, additional grants have been awarded to both institutions, and CHOC researchers have access to valuable University resources, like the Beckman Laser Institute, in an effort to bring breakthrough therapies and cures to pediatric patients.
Clinical Trials
At CHOC, we are dedicated to providing patients the very latest breakthrough treatments available to children, adolescents and young adults. Our efforts bring hope to patients with rare conditions, or conditions not responding to traditional treatments.
