Target donates $5,000 to Reach Out and Read at CHOC
CHOC Children?s received a $5,000 grant from Target? in recognition of its Literacy Program, Reach Out and Read, a national program that promotes early literacy in pediatric primary care clinics. The funds will be used to purchase additional books for use in CHOC?s clinics.
According to Emma Course, reading program coordinator at the CHOC Primary Care Clinic in Orange, ?as part of our literacy program, every child who gets a well-child exam at any CHOC clinic receives a brand-new book. We are truly grateful for Target?s generous gift, which will help us make sure we have enough books for every child who comes in for his or her exam.?
?At Target, our local grants are making a difference in the communities we serve,? says Laysha Ward, vice president, community relations, at Target. ?We?re proud to partner with CHOC Children?s as part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where our guests and team members live and work.?
