Harley riders deliver toys to CHOC patients
Approximately 2,000 Harley-Davidson riders strapped toys to their decorated motorcycles and rode from the Irvine Harley- Davidson dealership to CHOC Children’s December 24 for the 14th Annual CHOC Toy Run. A holiday tradition at CHOC, the event is organized by the Orange Coast Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.).
The event, which brings in two moving trucks filled with toys for CHOC patients, attracts riders from all over Southern California, but the majority of participants belong to Orange Coast H.O.G., one of the largest chapters in the state. In addition to bearing gifts, the riders brought Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, who were riding comfortably in a convertible Cadillac.
All of the participants were greeted by patients, their families, and hospital staff. Close to 100 volunteers were on hand to unload the toys and visit with the children.
