DR. JASON TORANTO TO APPEAR ON AMERICAN HEALTH JOURNAL ON JUNE 20 AT 5:30 P.M.

Dr. Jason Toranto, CHOC Children’s plastic surgeon, will appear as an expert on the highly rated award-winning health care television program American Health Journal on PBS SoCal TV on June 20 at 5:30 p.m. He will discuss the topic of Pierre Robin Sequence, a  name given to a birth condition that involves the lower jaw being either small in size (micrognathia) or set back from the upper jaw (retrognathia).

As an expert in pediatric plastic surgery, Dr. Toranto specializes in craniofacial surgery, including cleft lip and cleft palate repair; neonatal mandibular distraction; orthognathic surgery; cleft rhinoplasty, alveolar bone grafting and otoplasty. He’s an assistant professor/co-director of research at the Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery Institute at UC Irvine. He is board certified in general surgery and fellowship trained in craniofacial and plastic surgery.

The recipient of more than 90 national and international awards, including 15 Telly Awards, American Health Journal airs on PBS and other national network affiliates that reach more than 30 million households. Each 30-minute episode features six segments with a diverse range of medical specialists discussing a full spectrum of health topics.
