CHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital has been named a 2013 Guardian of Excellence Award winner for physician engagement by Press Ganey Associates, Inc. The award recognizes leading health care facilities that have achieved and consistently maintained excellence for multiple years. The award is given to only 45 organizations per year, representing the top three performing organizations by category. Press Ganey partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities, including more than half of all U.S. hospitals, to measure and improve the patient experience.
"We are proud to partner with CHOC Mission,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey. “Achieving and sustaining such a high degree of excellence reflects the organization’s deep commitment to delivering outstanding service and quality. Ultimately, this accomplishment is a bold statement to the community that CHOC Mission provides excellent patient care and experiences.”
CHOC Mission has engaged in a journey to excellence, committed to making the hospital a best place to work for staff, a best place to practice medicine for physicians, and a best place to receive care for patients. The hospital recently expanded its neonatal intensive care unit and added an inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit, to better serve the health care needs of children and families in south Orange County.
"CHOC Mission is proud of this recent recognition by Press Ganey, a leader in performance improvement. We are committed to delivering a high quality health care experience, which includes a strong partnership with our physicians. We know our engaged physicians share our deep commitment to compassionate, quality pediatric care,” said Marcia Folli, RN, BSN, MHA, vice president and chief nursing officer, CHOC Mission.
