CHOC Children’s Clinical Nursing Director Jill Fargo, RN, MSN, FNP, NEA-BC, earned one of the highest honors of her profession – the NurseWeek Excellence Award. Fargo was named the national winner in the Management category.
The NurseWeek Excellence Awards are designed to honor the commitment, expertise and compassion of nurses. Hundreds of nurses are nominated as role models in six categories of excellence. These nurses represent the essence of the profession, and inspire other nurses to be the best in patient care, education, leadership and professional development.
Fargo, who oversees CHOC’s medical/surgical units, Short Stay Unit and float pool, was honored for her exceptional management of nursing and patient care services. A compassionate and driven nursing leader, Fargo has implemented several innovations that have led to improved patient safety, access to care and organizational excellence.
