AUTO SHOW TO HOST "FIRST LOOK FOR CHARITY" EVENT BENEFITING CHOC
September 05, 2008

The Orange County Automobile Dealers Association (OCADA), together with all 13 fundraising “guilds” of Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), will present the 2nd Annual Orange County Auto Show “First Look for Charity” event on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center.

More than 1,000 of the glamorous set of Orange County will descend upon the convention center for an exclusive look at the season’s best and most exciting concept cars, exotics, “green” cars, and all-new 2009 models from the world’s top auto manufacturers.  Local officials, celebrities and the area’s most influential business and society leaders are invited and will have the opportunity before the general public to mingle among Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Maseratis, as well as the must-have “it” cars – the Audi R8 and the always fashionable Mini Cooper.  More than 500 car models will be on display, while “The Tijuana Dogs,” OC’s hottest ticket, and other popular bands entertain the crowd.  Guests will also be treated to an array of fine food and spirits from the area’s top restaurants and beverage vendors.

To top off the evening, one lucky attendee will walk away with keys to the all new 2009 Audi A4 two-year lease, courtesy of luxury car maker Audi.  Attendees of the First Look for Charity gala are automatically entered in the Audi A4 drawing and must be present to win.

“Based on last year’s success, I’m anticipating another terrific event,” said Helen Harper, Littlest Angel guild member and All Guild event chair.  “Like many women, I didn’t think an auto event would be fun, but it was an absolutely entertaining evening for women and men alike.  It was inspiring to see so many people come together to benefit CHOC, and we are very appreciative of the many Orange County auto dealers and other sponsors, who continue to find new ways like this to give back.”

OCADA and CHOC are very appreciative of this year’s event sponsors, including the dealer members of OCADA, Aguirre Tequila Imports, Audi, Infiniti, Jay’s Catering, McCormick & Schmick’s, Pacific Wine & Spirits, Roy’s, Sally Ann’s Catering, Tommy Bahama and Xenia and Co. with more sponsors being added daily.

"The First Look for Charity event is Orange County’s night to relax, put down the top, and celebrate our love affair with cars,” said Matt Gunderson, president, Orange County Automobile Dealers Association.  Every year the event brings out the very best of our community as people from all over Orange County come together in support of a very worthy cause – our kids.”

Tickets are $100 each, of which $75 is directly tax-deductable.  With Orange County auto dealers underwriting the event, funds from all ticket sales will benefit CHOC and provide local children with necessary health and support services.  Tickets can be purchased by calling CHOC All Guilds representative Patti Buckley at 562.947.0712, or by visiting www.chocallguildsevent.org.  Business/cocktail attire is preferred.
