Previously, Mary Zupanc, M.D., was at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee, where she’d held similar responsibilities since 2001.

CHOC Adds New Specialties to Newport Beach Center

Last fall, the CHOC Children’s Specialty Center opened at Hoag Health Center- Newport Beach in order to support local pediatricians and improve access to subspecialty pediatric care for coastal Orange County families. By the end of this fiscal year, the new center will have logged about 2,000 patient visits.

Henry Klassen, M.D., PhD., a senior scientist in the CHOC neuroscience research lab, co-authored a paper published in the July issue of the peerreviewed journal Stem Cells showing for the first time that stem cells from the central nervous system are not rejected when transplanted.
