ERIC MAMMEN TO APPEAR ON AMERICAN HEALTH JOURNAL ON FRIDAY, JUNE 21 AT 12:30 P.M.

CHOC Children's music therapist Eric Mammen, will  appear on the highly rated award-winning healthcare television program American Health Journal on PBS SoCal TV on Friday, June 21st  at 12:30 p.m..  He will discuss the use of music therapy on children.

 
Eric Mammen has been a music therapist for over 10 years. Music therapy is a recognized discipline that employs music to achieve non-music goals. When using music in a therapeutic context, the patients’ abilities are strengthened and transferred to other areas of their lives. Some of the benefits revolve around cognitive stimulation, pain management, relaxation, motor movement, the enhancement of self-esteem and other social skills, and providing a positive diversion.
 
The recipient of more than 90 national and international awards, including 15 Telly Awards, American Health Journal airs on PBS and other national network affiliates that reach more than 30 million households. Each 30-minute episode features six segments with a diverse range of medical specialists discussing a full spectrum of health topics.
