Cancer Support Services & Resources
The Hyundai Cancer Institute at CHOC Children's provides family-centered care because we understand that when one family member has cancer the entire family is impacted. In an effort to provide our young patients and their families with compassion along with their care, we are proud to provide a variety of resources to help families stay strong and allow children to remain kids.
We offer a variety of in-hospital programs designed to help children and their families cope with the unique challenges and needs of cancer patients.
We are pleased to provide a list of external organizations who provide cancer patients, their families and survivors with information, resources, scholarship opportunities and support.
A hospital can be a scary place for children, but at CHOC we work hard to make the hospital a home away from home.
Families of patients being cared for at the Cancer Institute have access to hospital-based financial consultants who are experts in obtaining funding for a child hospitalized with cancer. They connect families with MediCal and CCS, and help families navigate the financial paperwork that accompanies inpatient and outpatient services.
Our oncology case coordinator nurses have assembled the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) they get from patients and their families. Our FAQs cover everything from the very basics of cancer to blood and marrow transplants to clinical trials.
