Presenter Bio: Join Dr. Sheila Modir, CHOC Pediatric Psychologist, author, and expert in Trauma-Informed Care principles and resilience tools, as she shares the truth of ACE screening implementation. Dr. Sheila Modir is a pediatric psychologist at CHOC Children’s Project HEALTH clinic and at CHOC in Mission Hospital. Dr. Modir recently co-authored a children’s book called The Proudest Color, and continues to present at conferences and publish articles on the topic of trauma, resilience, and racial justice.

This training is developed for providers, by providers! In this training, Dr. Modir will cover how:

  • To explain trauma-informed care principles and provide concrete examples
  • To discuss how to integrate ACE screening implementation into clinical workflow
  • To identify barriers to ACE screening implementation and ways to manage these barriers
  • To discuss effective and efficient ways of explaining ACEs, toxic stress, and stress busters to patients
