John Henderson Joins CHOC as Vice President and Chief Information Officer

(ORANGE, Calif., June 29, 201CHOC CIO John Henderson7) – CHOC Children’s has appointed John Henderson vice president and chief information officer.

A seasoned information technology (IT) leader, Henderson has a successful track record of guiding cohesive teams in the design, deployment, administration and enhancement of enterprise IT applications and infrastructures.

Most recently, Henderson served as an assistant vice president at Texas Children’s Hospital. There, he was responsible for IT operations, including business and clinical application delivery, business intelligence and analytics, and infrastructure technology.

“I am very excited to be a member of CHOC’s executive management team, helping propel the organization toward its vision to be the leading destination for children’s health by providing exceptional and innovative care,” Henderson said. “CHOC is making critical investments in IT infrastructure that enhances safe, quality care, and improves the physician, clinician and patient experience. I am passionate about our mission and I am proud to contribute to these efforts.”

Henderson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Houston and an MBA from Texas A&M University. He’s a member of numerous professional associations, including College Healthcare Information Management Executives, Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society, and Association for Executives Healthcare IT Applications, for which he serves on the advisory board. In 2011, he received the CIO 100 Innovation Award.
