Neurology for the Non-Neurologist Conference

Parents and Primary caretakers often approach general practitioners with neurological concerns, often accompanied by much anxiety and trepidation. When they leave their pediatrician’s office or emergency room with little to no recommendations, and have to wait for several weeks - months to attain answers, their anxiety is heightened, often leading them to search for answers online or from family and friends that may not be of sound medical advise and may cause more harm.

To benefit our community, we offer this educational conference to general practitioners on common neurological concerns they may be approached with, and provide them with the tools and recommendations to help their families. Often times, our community practitioners inform us when it comes to neurological complaints, they have little background/training to provide initial work-up or recommendations; hence, the aim of this all-day symposium is to address this very issue. In addition, pediatricians know their families very well, and families often turn to them for their opinion in terms of what to do. This will empower pediatricians to provide comprehensive care in their practice.
