Surgery at CHOC :: Preparing for Surgery Guide for Patients and Families
Thank you for choosing CHOC Children’s surgery services. We understand that preparing for a child’s surgery or procedure can be stressful. This guide provides the information families need to ensure that everything is in place before the patient’s surgery. Whether a child is having an elective outpatient procedure or a major invasive surgery requiring an inpatient stay, all procedures and surgeries should be taken very seriously. This information should not take the place of information or instructions provided by the child’s surgeon.

CHOC Children’s has been Juleah Walsh’s home away from home since 2002 when she began working at CHOC as a nursing assistant while putting herself through school. After graduating in 2003, she began working with CHOC’s surgical patients in our medical surgical unit and then in 2007 officially transferred to the preopertive unit.
