To many people, robots are scary creatures that come to life in science fiction. But not to Sarah.
Diagnosed with a rare lung condition that caused pain and labored breathing, Sarah and her family turned to a world leader in pediatric robotic surgery. The experts at Children's Hospital of Orange County used robotics to avoid a painful surgery that would normally require opening her chest cavity. Instead, the result was a much less invasive surgery that left only a tiny scar and a much faster recovery. Sarah made history by becoming the first child in the world to undergo robotic-assisted lung surgery.
Today, Sarah leads a normal, healthy life. So you see, robots aren't so scary after all.
