SHIRLEY AND ELEANORE'S STORY

CHOC volunteers Shirley Rowland and Eleanore Matheson form quite a team, bringing kindness, laughter, and a touch of hope to families of critically ill children. The pair - with 58 years of volunteerism at CHOC between them, sit at the information desk on the 2nd floor, which houses the hospital's intensive care units. Shirley and Eleanore provide more to families than just directions. They are always willing to lend a tireless ear to distressed parents. Their tender smiles, freshly cut flowers and baked treats help to keep the calm in the midst of emotional chaos.
