THE GRIFFITH FAMILY'S STORY

It has been four years since the Griffith family was first introduced to CHOC. "After meeting the true heroes at CHOC, the doctors, staff and patients, our passion for CHOC was immediate," said Chris Griffith. "You are humbled by the selfless and tireless work you see there everyday, all for the care and comfort of children."

When the opportunity arose to support the new, dedicated CHOC at Mission pediatric wing of Mission Hospital's Emergency Department, the Griffiths jumped at the chance, making a gift to name one of the 11 patient rooms in honor of Marie and Jake's late grandfather.

"A couple of years ago, I had to take our daughter, Marie, to the emergency room," said Chris. "It was a frightening experience for her, with the usual chaos associated with serious traumas and emergencies. A dedicated pediatric emergency department will help shield children from such traumatic experiences."

Chris' passion and enthusiasm for CHOC runs deep, and we're honored that she recently accepted an appointment to The CHOC Foundation for Children's Board of Directors.

"There is such tremendous passion and great leadership within the hospital that you can't help but want to assist CHOC in reaching its vision and goals, and that's to give our community one of the best children's hospitals in the country. Bill and the kids have come to a number of events, and love making a difference in the children's lives. What a great way to create a legacy of philanthropic values, where "giving" becomes a way of life for generations to come."
