In December 2005, young philanthropists Mary Ella Wood and Justina Wong wanted to have a fundraiser. They decided they would make crafts and sell them for the holiday season. Every Saturday, they set up shop in their playhouse and even made sure to have fresh baked cookies and hot apple cider for their customers. In the end they raised over $300. Out of all the ideas for what to do with the money, they decided the best choice was to donate it to CHOC.
"We really enjoyed selling and making the crafts," said the girls, "and the best part was remembering that all the money was to help the children."
