The focus in the third year is on sharpening leadership skills, the development of proficiency in running a team, and the improvement of teaching skills. It is also a time to devote to reading, along with an in-house Board Review course, to enrich clinical knowledge and prepare for the Pediatric Board examination. Third year is devoted to team leadership on the wards, in addition to a few months each of intensive care, outpatient experience, and subspecialty electives.
