BEING
A VOLUNTEER FOR RADIO LOLLIPOP AT CHOC
Radio
Lollipop is a volunteer-driven live radio program broadcast
throughout CHOC for our patients and their families.
It is an interactive and creative
activity-oriented show designed to help address the needs of the whole
child. Lollipop broadcasts twice weekly and volunteers
who are invited to join the
team participate in all aspects of the program.
As a Volunteer for CHOC’s Radio Lollipop, you
will have the opportunity to help create and direct the
programming that is provided to our patients, as well
as organize crafts, games and act as a spokesperson in
the community for Radio Lollipop - helping to secure
funding, volunteers or other vital needs.
What Qualities Should a Potential
volunteer be able to Demonstrate?
- An enthusiastic,
positive and outgoing personality
- Minimum age of
18
- An interest in playing with children of all ages
in an interactive way
- An understanding of the benefits
that constructive play can provide for a sick child
and their siblings
- The ability to be a dependable
team player
- An appreciation of the need to uphold
the highest standards of ethics and integrity
- The
ability to meet the requirement to provide two hours
of voluntary play each week
