"Lady Ducks" Fashion Show Benefits Creation of Adolescent Oncology Wing at CHOC
In February, the “Lady Ducks” Fashion Luncheon, put on by the Anaheim Ducks wives and significant others, raised $98,000 for CHOC Children’s. Proceeds from the “beach chic”-themed luncheon, which was emceed by Laura Diaz from CBS Channel 2, benefited the new teen wing on the Oncology floor at CHOC. The sold-out event, which was held in the Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Club at the Honda Center, was attended by 225 guests. Ducks players Teemu Selanne, Ryan Getzlaf, J.S. Giguere, Scott and Rob Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Bobby Ryan and George Parros joined eight patients from CHOC in modeling clothes on the runway. “We are thrilled with the success this year, as the event is truly a team effort involving the Ducks players, coaches, wives and management,” says event chair Caroline Marchant, wife of Ducks center Todd Marchant. “We are grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and donors who have joined us to support CHOC Children’s.”
