Warne Family Charitable Foundation awards $10,000 for pet therapy
The Warne Family Charitable Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to CHOC Children?s Pet Therapy program. Additionally, the Foundation sponsored two participants in the CHOC Disneyland? Resort Walk in the Park for a total of $5,000.
According to Julie Warne, board member of the Warne Family Charitable Foundation, ?with our gifts to CHOC we hope to impact the lives of ill or injured children; particularly through Child Life programs such as pet therapy, which are available to all children admitted to CHOC. We were impressed to learn that CHOC has over 36 pet therapy teams, all of whom provide a welcome distraction to children who are staying in the hospital.?
The mission of the Warne Family Charitable Foundation is to support critical medical research, especially in the areas of lymphoma and related forms of cancer; provide educational opportunities for underserved children, especially in the areas of art and agriculture; and strengthen the family, by encouraging healthy values and harmony.
