CHOC Foundation for Children
Board Member - Brian Burke
Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Anaheim Ducks, due in no small part to CHOC Foundation for Children Board member Brian Burke, who is General Manager of the team. Brian encourages philanthropy among the Ducks players and believes in giving back to the community.
“We formed our relationship with CHOC several years ago, and it has been one of the most satisfying partnerships I can recall. I believe that it’s important to connect with the community and our fans, and to give back,” Brian says.
In fact, to be a part of the team, Brian makes it clear that team members participate in philanthropy as a member of the Anaheim Ducks. That includes visiting the patients at CHOC throughout the year to hand out Ducks items, autograph pictures, and just spend time with the children.
“I think I can speak for the entire team when I say that visiting the kids probably does as much for them as it does for the patients. I know they get a great feeling by bringing a smile to a sick or injured child’s face. I’m happy to be affiliated with CHOC, and believe it’s a relationship that will flourish for years to come,” Brian says.
