Family Donates $50,000 to CHOC

Foster and Coco Stanback donated $50,000 to CHOC in honor of their son, who received critical care at CHOC. While visiting Florida several years ago, the Stanback?s son fell off of a sea wall and landed on an oyster shell, which left broken pieces in his foot, causing aninfection. After unsuccessfully obtaining care in Florida, they brought their son to CHOC, where he received the appropriate care. ? We admire CHOC and the service they provide to the community, especially the fact that they will help children in need and who cannot afford the best of care. Our gift is designated to KidsCARE to help support CHOC?s greatest needs.?

Credit Union for Kids donates $25,000 to CHOC

Tony Boutelle, CEO of Credit Union Direct Lending, presented the CHOC Foundation with a check for $25,000 on behalf of Credit Union for Kids. California credit unions worked together to raise over $170,000 for Children?s Miracle Network hospitals in California through their annual Credit Union for Kids Wine Auction. ?CHOC looks forward to working with all the local credit unions through the Children?s Miracle Network Partnership,? says Patrice Clark of the CHOC Foundation.

According to Tony, ?helping kids is a great way for California credit unions to make a difference in the community. What better way to help children than by supporting Children?s Hospital of Orange County.?

Saddleback Materials Donates $15,000 to Emergency Department

Saddleback Materials Company donated $15,000 to support the Emergency Department (ED) at CHOC in Mission Viejo. The gift was made on behalf of Saddleback owners Joe and Teresa Nelson, who have designated CHOC in Mission Viejo as one of their philanthropies of choice. ? We wanted to make a gift to support the new CHOC at Mission Emergency Department because we truly believe children deserve their own ED. The new ED spares children from the sometimes traumatic experience of interacting with adults waiting to be seen in the general Emergency Room. The ED at CHOC at Mission gives them a place of their own,? the Nelsons explain.

Gwen Stefani Raises Over $100,000 for CHOC

Gwen Stefani raised more than $218,000 from her VIP Experience Charity Online Auction to Benefit Children?s Charities. The amount was split between CHOC and Orangewood?an organization for abused and neglected children. A group of CHOC patients got the opportunity to meet Gwen Stefani backstage before her June show at Verizon Wireless Ampitheater in Irvine. The ?meet & greet? was an opportunity for Gwen to meet the kids who were benefiting from her support. Gwen had this to say about the benefit auctions: ?I have contributed to both Orangewood and CHOC over the years. They are both Orange County based charities that give children hope, love and support when they need it most. Their work inspires me.?

Roy?s Owner Roy Yamaguchi Raises $16,000 for CHOC

Roy Yamaguchi, chef and owner of Roy?s restaurants, held a fundraiser at his Roy?s Newport Beach location to raise money for CHOC. The Hawaiian themed event featured an unforgettable evening of cocktails, dinner, a silent auction and entertainment. It was co-sponsored by the CHOC Lamp Lighter, Little Mermaid and Small World guilds. According to Roy, ?I really wanted to do something to raise money for a charitable cause involving kids, and selecting CHOC was an easy choice. I?m inspired and awed by all that CHOC does to help the children of Orange County. I?m also gratified to know that the money we raised was used to purchase a new transport monitor for use by the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.?
