CHOC Health Alliance is Now a Pediatric-Only
Physician-Hospital Consortium (PHC)
Effective January 1, 2007, CHOC Health Alliance (CHA) is the first pediatric-only PHC in the CalOptima network. As a result of this change, CHA is serving members age 21 and younger, as well as those older than 21 with qualifying, chronic, CCS-eligible conditions. Adult members have been transferred to other networks.
"With this change, we are better able to focus on our mission of caring for children," says Kimberly Cripe, CHOC president and chief executive officer. "Members will continue to have access to highquality, comprehensive pediatric care, including top subspecialists at Children's Hospital of Orange County and CHOC at Mission."
CPN OFFERING HIGHER CAPITATION RATES
CHOC Physician's Network (CPN) recently increased their capitation rates to providers. As a California Mutual Benefit Corporation, CPN does not retain earnings, which means all remaining funds from operations are distributed back to providers at the end of the year. This supplemental compensation is in addition to the monthly capitation check.
For more information about CHA or to join CPN, please contact CHA provider representatives Nancy Fereria at 714-565-5227 or Victor Castro at 714-565-5127.
