CHOC at Mission
Aims For Excellence
Our goal is simply this: to become recognized in South Orange County for excellence in neonatal, pediatric and adolescent healthcare. The following are the top hospital initiatives that are getting us there: Another major focus is the continued recruitment and retention of the all-RN nursing staff we enjoy here at CHOC at Mission.
Recent hospital accomplishments have included provisional CCS-certification for our pediatric unit and NICU. Additionally, 12 staff members and two physicians have completed advanced training through the Institute For Family-Centered Care.
I am delighted to be working with CHOC at Mission at this time. My CHOC career began in 1987, and I have worked in several hospital departments, including Oncology, Apheresis, Home Infusion and Home Health. In 1993, I became director of Continuum of Care, which included oversight of Case Management, Social Services and Home Health. A few years later, I directed Ambulatory Services.
Following a brief hiatus at UCI Medical Center, I returned to CHOC in 2003 as executive director of Operational Development and Implementation, which included responsibilities for CHOC/St. Joseph Hospital Shared Services, Prop 10 and the Department of Health Psychology.
We are well on the way to reaching our goal, and I look forward to our continued work together.
