It features stories about patients, donors, board members and community involvement; and news about guilds, events, Children's Miracle Network and hospital updates. It is mailed to donors who support CHOC with a gift of $50 or more.

The Rothschild Family Foundation awarded $5,000 to CHOC Children’s for the purchase of medical equipment in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The much-needed equipment will be used to supplement the demands of the busy NICU, which is at capacity nearly every day.

According to Desiree and Tyrone Rothschild, board members of the Rothschild Family Foundation, “when we learned that the CHOC NICU was nearly always full and in need of additional medical equipment, we knew exactly where we wanted to direct our grant. It surprised us to learn that admissions to the CHOC NICU had nearly doubled in the past 10 years, so we’re gratified to know that our gift will be fulfilling a critical need at CHOC.”

In 2007, the Rothschild Family Foundation also contributed $15,000 to the development of a family consultation room in the new CHOC Specialty Care Clinic. This was the Foundation’s first gift to CHOC Children’s.

The mission of the Rothschild Family Foundation is to honor the spirit and vision of the Rothschild Family and its founder, Peter B. Rothschild. This mission includes supporting healthcare for individuals and families who are disadvantaged by financial need, through providing for research, direct clinical and patient care, new facilities and equipment, health education and awareness, with emphasis on programs that provide directly for patient needs.
