TEEN'S RAPID HEART BEAT CURED WITHOUT RADIATION

September 20, 2013

From NBC Los Angeles

Published: Sept. 19, 2013

Dr. Anjan Batra, director of the electrophysiology program at CHOC Children's, is curing patients of irregular heartbeats by using an electrophysiology outpatient procedure that requires no radiation. In this NBC4 News piece, observe Dr. Batra successfully conducting the procedure on a 13-year-old patient, whose heart rate used to suddenly speed to up to 200 beats per minute.  This new treatment is more accurate than radiation and uses magnets to create a 3D map of a patient's heart. Dr. Bruce Hensel reports for NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Sept. 19, 2013.
