DR. LEONARD SENDER TO APPEAR ON AMERICAN HEALTH JOURNAL ON FRIDAY, JULY 26 AT 5:30 P.M.

CHOC Children's oncologist Leonard Sender, M.D. will appear as an expert on the highly rated award-winning healthcare television program American Health Journal on PBS SoCal TV on Friday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m.  He will discuss the topic of genomic pediatric cancer research.  

 
Dr. Sender currently serves as the medical director of the Hyundai Cancer Institute at CHOC Children’s.  He received his medical education in South Africa and completed his pediatric internship and residency at UC Irvine Medical Center. Dr. Sender is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology. He serves as chairman of the LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance Cancer Centers Working Group, chairman of the “I’m Too Young for This” foundation, and is the founding member and chairman of SeventyK.org, a cancer advocacy foundation.
 
The recipient of more than 90 national and international awards, including 15 Telly Awards, American Health Journal airs on PBS and other national network affiliates that reach more than 30 million households.
