CHOC CHILDREN’S RHEUMATOLOGIST ANDREW SHULMAN, M.D., PH.D, TO SPEAK AT NATIONAL JUVENILE ARTHRITIS CONFERENCE

CHOC Children’s rheumatologist Andrew Shulman, M.D., Ph.D., is a featured speaker at the 2013 National Juvenile Arthritis Conference, held July 18 – 21 at the Hyatt Regency Orange County in Anaheim, California.  Dr. Shulman will address the topic of “immunology and genetics” related to children and teens who suffer from juvenile arthritis.

As a pediatric rheumatologist, Dr. Shulman cares for patients with juvenile arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and related conditions, juvenile dermatomyositis, vasculitides, uveitis, periodic fever syndromes and other auto- inflammatory diseases. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas; completed his residency at Boston Children’s Hospital; and finished his fellowships in pediatric rheumatology at Boston Children’s Hospital and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Shulman is pleased to share his expertise with attendees at the conference.  The educational event focuses on health, wellness and fun for children affected by arthritis, lupus, myositis, ankylosing spondylitis and other rheumatic diseases.  For information about the conference, visit www.arthritis.org/jaconf.
