More than 35 Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) physicians, including specialists and pediatricians, are featured as "Physicians of Excellence" in the January 2007 issue of Orange Coast magazine. The "Physicians of Excellence" program was developed by the Orange County Medical Association, the largest physician membership association in the county. The annual program honors the region's outstanding physicians for their dedication to the medical profession and their service to the community.
To be selected, physicians were required to be board certified by an American Board of Medical Specialties member; be in good standing with the Medical Board of California; have greater than five years of demonstrated excellence in practice; and have a primary practice in Orange County. Additionally, physicians were required to meet at least three of the following criteria: leadership; teaching; clinical research and special skills; and volunteer service.
