DISNEYLAND CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY BY GIVING $1 MILLION GIFT TO CHOC
July 17, 2006
On the morning of July 17th, in celebration of Disneyland's 51st birthday, CHOC received a $1 million gift from The Walt Disney Company, The Disneyland Resort and the Cast at Disneyland. The $1 million contribution will help fund the future healthcare needs of children in the region, including the renovation of CHOC's outpatient clinics, which, upon completion, will receive 135,000 visits a year!
Disney has been an integral part of CHOC since the hospital's inception, starting with Walt Disney championing the need for a children's hospital in Orange County and leading the charge to reality. For over 40 years, Disney Cast Members, VoluntEARS, executives and beloved characters have contributed funds, time and tenderness to enhance CHOC's environment of healing. The Disneyland Resort also partners with CHOC for the hospital's biggest fundraiser - The CHOC/Disneyland Resort Walk in the Park, which will take place this year on October 8th.
Media interested in speaking to a CHOC representative about this gift may contact the hospital's Public Relations Department at 714-532-8680. Community members interested in learning more about supporting CHOC can call the CHOC Foundation for Children at 714-532-8690.
