Accessing our services requires a referral from your family primary care physician or specialist. We work in partnership with referring physicians to ensure that your access to The CHOC Neuroscience Institute is timely and direct.

Financial assistance/coordinator

Families of patients being cared for at The CHOC Neuroscience Institute have access to hospital-based financial consultants who are experts in obtaining funding for a child hospitalized with a neurologic condition. They connect families with MediCal and CCS, and help them navigate the financial paperwork that accompanies inpatient and outpatient services.

Tour of Hospital

A hospital can be a scary place for children. The more they are familiar with the hospital environment, the more comfortable they will feel. Prior to a child’s hospitalization or obtaining outpatient services, patients and families will have the opportunity to tour The CHOC Neuroscience facilities at CHOC.

Patients who will be hospitalized will have the opportunity to tour our inpatient unit. Our special “Hello Hospital” tour allows families to come in and see the facility, including admitting, the laboratory, the inpatient unit (including the playrooms, patient rooms and nursing desk). They also meet the staff and can ask questions.
