Cardiac Services
At the CHOC Heart Institute, we believe every patient is unique. Patients may undergo several diagnostic tests to help our specialists make or confirm a diagnosis.
The Heart Institute’s Cardiac Services is responsible for the provision of diagnostic cardiac testing services to inpatients and outpatients. Specific cardiac labs include the following: ECG Lab, Echo Lab, Exercise Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Pacer Lab.
In order to accurately diagnose and treat each patient, an array of comprehensive multispecialty cardiodiagnostic services is provided, including:
- Electrocardiogram (EKG), Holter Monitoring and Cardiac Event Monitor Recording
- Cardiac Stress Test and Cardiac Pulmonary Testing (CPX)
- Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
- Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography
- Fetal Echocardiography/Prenatal Cardiac Diagnosis
- Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization
- Therapeutic Cardiac Catheterization (Catheter Deployed Devices, Radiofrequency and Cryoablation)
- Pacemaker and Internal Cardiac Defibrillator (ICD) Interrogation and Reprogramming
- Coordination of General Radiology (CXR, MR, CT), Echocardiographic and Fluoroscopic Imaging
- Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (MR) and Computerized Tomographic (CT) Angiography
