Physician / Researcher Bio

John Cleary, MD, specializes in all aspects of neonatal intensive care and is the physician leader of the ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and Neonatal Cardiovascular Intensive Care teams. His research interests include synchronized mechanical ventilation, high frequency ventilation, pulmonary hypertension and non-invasive monitoring. Dr. Cleary is board certified in both pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. He served his fellowship through the University of California, San Diego. He completed his residency and internship at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine in Worcester, where he received his medical training.
