Medical Director of the CHOC Cystic Fibrosis Center, David Hicks, M.D. is also Medical Director of Neonatalogy at Irvine Medical Center and Medical Director of HealthBridge Children?s Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Hicks specializes in treating and managing the full spectrum of related disorders. Dr. Hicks served his fellowship and residency at UCI Medical Center and Children?s Hospital of Orange County, both in Orange. He completed his internship at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City. Dr. Hicks is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine. He is board certified in three areas of pediatric medicine: pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology and neonatology.Research
Dr. Hicks is dedicated to caring for newborns and older children with chronic lung diseases. He is particularly committed to caring for patients with cystic fibrosis and asthma. To that end, he is currently involved in multicenter trials of cystic fibrosis medications and treatments. Many of these trials are in association with the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.Throughout his career, Dr., Hicks has coauthored numerous publications and presentations on chronic lung diseases. He has published in journals including the Journal of Pediatrics, Pediatrics, and Topics of Emergency Medicine.
