Grand Rounds

All Mixed Up: Gender Variant Youth

Outcomes:  At the conclusion of this presentation, the physician learner will be able to:
1. Describe gender variant behaviors and apply recommendations for support and treatment.
2. Provide youth and families access to medical and mental health treatment in a developmentally timely and culturally sensitive manner (AB1195).
3. Communicate with empathy and sensitivity to create an office environment where the patient is comfortable raising medical, psychological or social needs that can then be addressed by the medical system.

Target Audience: Primary care pediatricians. Family practitioners, Pediatric subspecialists, Pediatric residents and other healthcare professionals involved in the delivery of care to infants and children are also invited.

Accreditation: CHOC is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation: CHOC designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 hour of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  

This credit may also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education.
