ACADEMIC DAY FOR NEONATOLOGISTS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

 

11th Annual Academic Day for Neonatologists

This Annual Neonatology Conference provides local and regional Academic and Clinical Neonatologists, Neonatal-Perinatal Fellows, Critical Care Specialists and Pediatricians with an update on and new strategies for improving the health outcomes of neonatal babies.

 LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the conclusion of the conference, the participant should be able to:

  1. Counsel families on the benefits and after care of neontal mandibular distraction.
  2. Counsel parents on available options for treatment of myelomeningocele and refer for intrauterine surgery.
  3. Advocate for use of NAVA ventilation where appropriate in the NICU setting.
  4. Advocate for use of NIPPV in premature infants.
  5. Manage chorioamnionitis based on current evidence.
  6. Advocate for and use simulation training as a way of maintaining proficiency in procedures.
