HOLIDAY DONATIONS 2013
CHOC Children’s will be hosting a toy drive on Saturday, December 15, 2012. We will have collection bins at our associate parking structure from 8am-3pm. We ask that all toy donations be delivered on this day only. Please bring new unwrapped toys to support the patients and families at CHOC Children’s. Please see CHOCO’S Wish List for items we accept. We’d greatly appreciate toys being sorted and boxed before being dropped off.
Due to construction and the opening of our new CHOC Tower, we are unable to accommodate the delivery of any toy donations in the main lobby of our hospital during the busy holiday season. .For those unable to make it to the CHOC Toy Drive on December 15th, here are a few other options::
- Log onto: www.amazon.com and look for the wish list for “Children’s Hospital of Orange County”. Your donation can be shipped directly to us.
- Toys may be dropped off during the month of December at the Harley Davidson Dealership, located at 8677 Research Dr, Irvine, CA 92618. Please let them know the items are for the CHOC Toy Drive.
- Donations can also be mailed to: CHOC Children’s Child Life Department, 1201 W. La Veta, Orange, CA 92868.

Play experiences can help children to cope and adjust to illness and hospitalization. Play is one way the CHOC and CHOC at Mission Child Life Specialists meet the developmental, psychosocial, emotional, and educational needs of our patients.
Our goal is to align your donations with our needs. Due to our limited storage and specific patient needs we ask donors to choose items listed on “CHOCO’s Wish List” only.
You can also donate cash and gift cards for CHOC to purchase items most needed for our current patients.
Please note: In the hospital, infection is always a risk. In order to protect our patients, all toys, stuffed animals, and donated items must be new. Also, due to patient confidentiality and infection control, donors are not able to deliver gifts or give parties for the children.
Due to recent toy recalls, we encourage donors to consider gift cards instead of toy donations.
